Main features

Withings Pulse HR is basically a fitness instructor and a lifestyle coach on your wrist. While it shares many features with most of the fitness watches, everything in it was designed with a goal in sight. It means that from health monitoring to fitness modes, Pulse HR aims to help you achieve your physical goals and lead a healthier lifestyle. Two issues lowered the score of this brilliant smartwatch. One is the price – Pulse HR is the most expensive item on our list. The second is the app – sometimes, it doesn’t upload the data from the device. The latter might not be a big issue since it doesn’t happen regularly and only for certain users, so it by no means indicates that it’s anything more than a glitch. This fitness smartwatch records heart rate to assist you in your fitness journey and helps improve sleep by notifying you about any potential issues. Sports-wise, you can select from 30+ different options, and this smartwatch will adapt to whatever activity you’re partaking in.

Design

Surprisingly, Withings only comes in one color – black. But this is the most common pick anyway, and since it has a unisex design, the lack of available colors should not be an issue. Like most Withings products, Pulse HR has quite an interesting design that sets it apart from many standard fitness watches. The specialized OLED screen displays the functions, but the primary use is through the Withings Health Mate app. This gadget is not the lightest, but that could be due to its durable stainless-steel design. Pulse HR is also waterproof, able to withstand a depth of up to 50m.

Ease of use

First, like with most Withings devices, you’ll need to install and set up their Health Mate app. It can take a while, but once it’s done, you’ll be able to connect any other Withings product effortlessly. The side button is for turning on the device and entering the sports mode. After that, you can manually scroll through various features, from sport modes to health and fitness metrics. Pulse HR also needs Bluetooth to sync with the Health Mate app, but not everyone prefers to keep that running.

⌚ Value

Overall, it’s difficult to say whether Pulse HR is worth all that money. Purpose-driven people who need some extra motivation to stay active, or those who already have any of the Withings products, would certainly appreciate this fitness watch. But it is quite pricy, and not completely perfect, so it’s up to you to determine if it’s worth getting this particular device.
